what is the crank accessory on the 3rd pic?

Yes. There were kits available to convert them. Notice also, the unique rear trunk area. And my pet peeve, the upside-down steering wheel.

It's an accessory "cranking" device that allows you start the car while seated. You pull a handle attached to a cable that winds around the "volute" style pulley that you see in front.

I guess if it backfires, the handle yanks you forward and throws you through the windshield. :lol:
