I have a brake rod that the offset to clear the radius rod is longer than what I am familiar with.

Any idea of its application? : ^ )

This was under discussion in the past. But could the longer offset be need for a wide track rear axle?

Wide track rods are longer overall.

Another T part that’s not always the same.

Price List of Parts books might have the answer to make the case that those longer offset clearance bend rods are the early '26 styles, prior to the straight rods more common on the Improved Cars.

Reason is the straight rods are listed as 3468C as Brake Rod Assembly R & L, factory number 891C, requiring 2 ea., in the late Aug 5 1928 book.. So the change later to the straight rods deleted the left and right required offset bend types to save $$. These parts are noted as 'assembly' as would guess the rod included the support bracket.

The early 1926 Improved car Aug 1, 1926 book notes 3468C Brake Rod Assembly R, factory number 891C, requiring 1 ea. and...the 3469C Brake Rod Assembly L, factory number 1513C, requiring 1 ea. .

Because the improved 26-7 models had the larger diameter brakes, the rods were shorter. The lever on the cam was also longer, so the rods no longer needed the offset bends.
