Headlight bar Identification
Can anyone help to ID this headlight bar. I have attached a photo of my one piece bar to show the difference.
The photos of the one with the headlight attached has a locking nut and separate end bracket. I thought it was a 26.
I bought it and never paid attention to the differences until I got it back to my shop. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bill

It is not the same as the bar on my '27 Touring.

Re: Headlight bar Identification
The top one was only sold as an aftermarket item, never supplied by Ford as factory item. There were several different versions of the bar sold to support the fenders before Ford started suppling them later in 1926.
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!

Re: Headlight bar Identification
The pressed steel bar is 1927 Ford. The other one with the headlight on on it is probably aftermarket. If you don't want to use it, I'd like to buy it.
The lack of a headlight bar on the 1926 cars was not one of Ford's better ideas. I put a '27 pressed steel bar on a '26 car by placing 1/2" shaft spacers under the headlight mounting feet and using longer bolts. It doesn't look quite right, but it reduces flexing and vibration in the front fenders quite a bit.

Hey Pat,
I picked up the bar and lights at Luray. Did not pay attention to the bar when I bought it. You can send me a PM if you would like to buy it.
