I have seen dated transmission shafts, typically on bress cars. 13, 14, & 15's. Transmissions I have rebuilt.
Its a full date month - day - year in about 1/4" font.
I have not noticed date codes on Black era T's. In fact I checked a few others. No date codes.

Until today. I just tore down an early 23. Slant W/S with a wood fire wall. Stamped on the shaft is a small, 1/8" Q & a small Ford script. Q - 22 in the alphabet.
Anybody else notice a later transmission date code??

I have one dated 2/29/12. Leap year apparently.

1912 was a leap year. Any year where the last two digits are divisible by 4 is a leap year, except on the turn of the century. Then the first two digits must be divisible by 4.
My Chocolate van trans shaft was stamped 9- 26- 12. It has B series engine number.

Someone probably had that transmission apart, and replaced the shaft with an early one.
