Rustoleum question

I'm finally getting around to painting my luggage rack. I still had a quart each of rusty metal printer and gloss black enamel. Both from Rustoleum. I've already sprayed the primer (5:2 with acetone). Normally, for brush application, they recommend 24 hours before recoating or top coating. I'm wondering what effect the acetone does to the cure time being sprayed. It was already flashed off within a half hour, not the normal 2-4 with brushing. If I can top coat today, I will. Otherwise, I'm spraying tomorrow.

If you got some sunshine, set it in the sun for a while. Just let it cool back off before the top coat. About an hour should do it.
I have plenty of sunshine if you'd like to borrow some.

Thanks. That's what I was thinking. Definitely plenty of sunshine here in northern WV today too.

Don’t be in a hurry. If it takes a week to dry, wait a week. If you can smell it, it is not fully cured. If you try and recoat before it is dry, the underlying coat may alligator, which will entail removing all the paint and starting over from scratch, so waiting a little longer may actually shorten the job by you not having to do it over by trying to rush the job. Also, don’t try to save a few bucks by using old paint. It may be bad. Better to spend a few bucks and get fresh paint. Jim Patrick
