I’m working on a 1926 Roadster I just got, and the guy gave me an extra axle assembly.

On the end of one of the spindles, sticking out ahead of the axle is this thing. Anyone know what the heck it is?

It is a speedometer drive mount. It treads onto the end of steering arm.

Think anyone would want it? I have no use for it and if someone else does they could have it.

It is useable for someone. Just list it in the classifieds. Use one of the vendors catalogs for a likely price, as some of them are reproduced. The one you have with the taper on the end takes a bracket arm which binds on the taper. The arm is held on with a bolt threaded on to the end. Another type sees a different arm clamped around the extended nut.

I have that exact part on my 1925. It's a Stewart part.

Andre's bracket is the alternative to yours. Note his has no threaded hole and taper on the end. His bracket clamps around the extended nut.
