Partly OT - First VMCCA Meet 1939

This wonderful old home movie, updated to a more modern format, was just posted on the AACA website. There aren't many Ts. The games are fun, but the one of driving over logs while balancing a tray of drinks looks to be hard on the cars. There are two fires - one simulated, the other clearly not. These were just 30-year-old used cars then; restoration might have meant checking the oil. These people had no idea that World War II was about to happen. Find a good spot to watch with the beverage of your choice, and enjoy!

Go to 22.53 and watch the 09-10 T touring race over some 4 x 4's!!
Great video. I only saw about 100 cars that I'd like in my shop today
Thanks for posting this Gil

Absolutely amazing clips. Wonder how many of those cars ended up in the Austin Clark collection? Noticed a lot of young people involved and of course some very attractive young ladies. There appeared to be several Renaults in the clips, at least that is what i think the rear radiator cars are. That sure is a great example of apple pie America before the war!

Yes, thanks for posting this Gil. I had seen a poor version of it a few years ago and have wanted to look at it again. It gives a priceless sense of how it was for hobbyists putting 30+ year old cars through their paces. Ya can't see that just anywhere.
Wonderful.
