I was just made aware of the passing of Ken Schultz, an outstanding Model T owner, driver and restorer, after an extended illness and recent surgery. He owned a restoration shop many years ago and attended nearly every Ohio Jamboree until the past two years. He and his wife, Kay, were very active in their local Model T club in the Canton/Akron area. We will miss his humor and knowledge of model T’s and overall restoration expertise on just about any vehicle, especially early cars.

I wanted a spare tire carrier for our 27 roadster that allowed the spare tire to swing out away from the door so the drivers door could be used. It took us nearly two years to develop a design that worked. We drove that car for many years using that carrier. Only one I’ve ever seen. He was sure good at fabrication. He always gave me hell for using disc brakes. He insisted they needed to be Rocky Mountain type. E agreed to disagree and went in our way. He did like distributors though. My kind of guy! 👍🏻
