Started tearing down the rear axle & found this on the left axle end. There was lots of grease leaking. Whatever it is, it looks like it was made to do something. Maybe a rear seal? Any ideas?

Aftermarket bolt/clamp on grease seal cap worn out/thru.

Should look like this. NOS one.
