[image][/image]Finally back to work on my 26 roadster pickup, been at it a few weeks , I have a couple questions , first , is the metal cover inside the bed over the rear spring necessary or can I leave it out to make the bed floor look more streamlined ? Also , although I know it’s not correct , I have a 25 roadster top , it fits , the only difference being the location of the stanchion connections . Will the upholstery for a 26 work with these bows ?
Lastly , what’s the deal with the hood shelves ? I can’t find them anywhere ? I need a passenger side one , lol !!

We have a '26 Roadster Pickup also and restored it in the mid 1990's. We did not use the metal cover in the bed and it's fine that way. Our T came to us with '25 top bows and when I noticed that they were wrong, we got a set of correct '26 top bows. Then we tried to put the '25 top covering on the '26 bows and it didn't work.
We finally just purchased a correct top covering kit from Classitique and it fit like it should. You should be able to find hood shelves from the larger T parts vendors as most of them have used parts also. If that doesn't work place a WTB (Want to Buy) ad in the classified section of this Forum.
Hope this helps.

The metal cover provides clearance between the frame and the bed. Need to use it? Ford thought so. The top bows are different between 25 and 26. Not only are the windshield clamps in a different place, the width is different and the rear bow is different. If you are going to spend the big money for a new top you would be way better off to use the correct top irons.
