Does anyone know what the maximum oil temperature might be anticipated for a Model T? I'm still playing with rare earth magneto parts and 300 degrees F. seems to be the threshold temp. for neodymium.

If it gets above 230*f I would be greatly surprised.

I have been fiddling with this for a few years and have made some very successful prototypes. They simply replace the original magnets with aluminum/rare earth pieces which lighten the flywheel about eight pounds and increase voltage by 30 to 40 percent with a mag gap of nearly 1/8 inch. Originally used samarium cobalt magnets which have a maximum operating temperature in excess of 550 degrees f. But are costly. High temperature neodymium magnets are far cheaper but have an operating threshold of just above 300 degrees.
