Top snaps, what are these things?

I’m missing a few of the inserts for these top snaps that go into the rear top bow on my touring. Any idea on what these are called and where to get replacements?

What you are looking for is difficult to find and rarely made.
I don't know where to but these other than on used parts and salvage them.
Hopefully the forum has a source.

It is in the same family as these that are still listed as being available, sorta.

Sorry I can't be of more help

I don't think Ford used that style.

Contact Mike Francis at Classtique Auto Upholstery. He may have what you're looking for. They're listed in the Vendor section.

Good luck,
Mike "modeltspaz" Spaziano.

This is the correct fastener for the Improved cars (26-27).

If you're looking for the "receiving" part (socket), then this will work: https://www.modeltford.com/item/SNAP-R.aspx.
The problem is that this part does not allow for the thickness of the side curtains, so the fastener on the top won't close properly into the socket if side curtains are used.

The original socket has an extension to hold the fastener outward, the same thickness as the side curtain fabric so the fastener will close properly. I don't know where the original type socket can be had. If anyone has a couple, I need them :)

Here is the fastener. In the closed position, you can see the area that the side curtain would occupy.

If you need the "male" fastener, Mike at Classtique sells them. The first one with the ring requires a special tool for installation which he also sells.

If you use the prong type, you don't need the special tool.
