Is anyone still making, (-or does anyone sell) the flat brass Firewall Trim like was used on the edge of 1914 Firewalls??

The 1913-14 brass trim is a “U” configuration. Be sure you get the right trim. For over 50 years these cars have been fitted with reproduction dash boards made of 3/4” cabinet plywood. The original solid laminated dash boards measured 13/16” thick. I hope they are available in both sizes, I had difficulty finding it when I replaced the dash in my ‘13.

I don't know. The slight overhang didn't bother me. If it did, I'd veneer the plywood.

Lang's has that flat trim.
Might call to see if this flat has the 1/4" overhang, on both sides, isn't clear in the description or photo.


Did get some oval trim from Restoration Supply to put on the faux '12 firewall. Has lips on both sides to hide the wood edges of the firewall.

To me, a 13-14 is a sort of a U, but flat on the top and sides. The sides have a very slight U configuration on the edges.

Larry is correct..., the rounded trim is actual for boats. I have to make it on a sheet metal brake in the past or use a power roller with 3/4" flat dies..., works either way.

Thank you Sir. I have definitely considered either making it on my Pullmax by making a set of dies out of Delrin. I have even thought about using the same dies to flatten the Oval moulding however I have not been able to locate anyone who is stocking it. So what grade Brass did you use and who was your supplier??

Online metals has whatever you need. They give you options in grades.

Not so fast Hank. Here is an example of quite a bit of rounded trim I acquired off a salvaged 1910-1911 REO.

REO yes....., Ford no. You must anneal the rounded brass or you will kink it. You think Henry Ford would have added extra steps in that? Flat can be slapped with a mallet with a light edge support.
