New year, new thread. Our chapter has done nothing so far. 1 1/2 inches of rain today. I wanted to start the thread in case someone did something worth sharing.

Well I would hope not for Pete's sake, the new year was only 19 hours old yet! Most haven't gotten over their hangover or barely awake!!

Historically we try to,do a little something on New Year’s Day to jump start the year. Mother Nature didn’t agree this year

Sorry for the slow start. The weather in California didn’t really cooperate early on. Today we had a clear spot so our new president, Chris Rich, sent out word for a Flash Tour. For us Flash Tours are short notice, let’s get out and drive. We met for coffee and donuts before a short, 30 miles, tour to nearby Coverdale. Of course we had some great Mexican food for lunch. 9 T’s, one 46 Ford and a modern participated. All in 22 people.

Nothing yet so far in 2026
It has only gone above 32 deg F for a few short afternoons so far this year, weeks ago.
And for over 2 weeks it has been single digits at night.
The 6 to 12" of snow and ice is very solid and has been hanging around for weeks now locking everything up.
The roads are white, from salt!
I was trying to use the lathe today and the old shop was 14 deg F.
We are dreaming of warmer weather when we can actually get something done outside and go play again.

South Jersey T Tinkers had a great shop day in early January and a bowling night so far in February. Our shop days consist of pulling a members car inside and addressing whatever it may need to get it ready for touring season. We pulled an unknown rear out and apart to inspect it and patched a radiator at the January meet. The car drove out at the end of the day. Also, worked on a members John Deere L that hadn’t run it many years. That was driving around by lunch time. A big pot of chili and cornbread was lunch.

Thanks for posting on your shop day. I think shop days are becoming as popular as tours, at least in the winter. We are having one this weekend.

We had our first Shop Day of the year yesterday. We had a good turnout, but because of the weather no one brought a T. We pulled down a bunch of carburetors and discussed the various types used on a T. A couple people carried in their NH carbs and we checked them over. Coffee and lots of goodies rounded out the morning.

The LBMTC snuck our monthly Garage Day in just before the storms arrived. Among other tasks, we focused on replacing an exploded coil and went through the steering linkage, finishing with a 3/16” toe-in alignment, on this special 1923 Paco Bodied Speedster with 16 valve type C Roof head.

Heart of Iowa met in Grinnel for lunch then most went on to view the art museum. Nice day for a drive in the coupe. Mid Feb feels like April 1 here.

Good to hear you got a good day in Iowa in the middle of a crazy winter.
Shop Days seem very popular, especially in the winter. Hope you cured your death wobble, Steven.

Several years ago, Sam in St. Louis, decided we needed a mid winter get together, and the “Tour De Frost” was born.
This year landed on Valentine’s Day. Lousy weather kept everyone driving modern, but a great time was had over lunch.
When the weather allows, we get a T or 2 to attend, but its more about getting together outside of the normal monthly meeting.

The Model T Ford club of New Zealand is holding it's annual national rally this week. Numbers are down this year due to a clash with another big rally, so only 18 T's here. I haven't got a decent photo of the whole lot, but I can tell you that 1912 is the most popular year...
And unusually, 3x 1926 RPU's together also.
