I have my 24x40 3 bay shop...
Then I have a 12x24 storage shed for yard stuff, bikes, Xmas, boxes of stuff etc.
The shed showed signs of rodents...
Guess where my wife insisted the Xmas stuff was to be stored this year...
I tried to protest...it didn't work....

Actually, the other day, I finished rebuilding a different engine, different car off camera, not the Model T pictured. When I got the car running, first start, I turned around and saw the photo opportunity above. All the oil and assembly lube burned off. This is rented space, not mine. I started up the Model T, first try, and moved it out of the way to get the other car on the road and air out the garage. Then drove the T back into its spot.

I’m about ready to drop my motor in a speedster I’m building. I’ve got the front and rear axles done, next comes the body. It’s an Overland body but I might want to go for a spin before I take it off for bodywork and paint so I had to drill holes for a coil box. Never used one of those step bits before.

Pulled wooden truck body from the 25 my Dad passed on to me. Sheet metal mostly painted and Dad was building the engine when he passed away 2 years ago. Finishing up the engine and playing around with front half touring car on the frame. Wheels are NOS Fords dad bought years ago.

Dont leave your engine sitting horizontal.
That puts a big strain on the crank from an unsupported transmission. Tip it up vertical.

Yes thanks for that, I just bored the fourth main and installed it with engine vertical.

This is the first year that I didn't put our 11 T on jacks for the winter. I'm glad that I didn't, as it was in the mid 70s yesterday so I took it out for an early February drive.

Today we hung the front fenders on our 27 Sport Touring.
It’s starting to look like a car!

Living in WI i have not done much with my Ts they are all in storage. But 2 of mine celebrate their build days. My 27 turns 99 next week and my 16 turned 110 last week. Neither car has changed much since they were built especially the touring. It's still rock its orignal interior and wheels the engine has never had main or even a valve job done in all its years and still runs very well.

I was able to salvage my four dip pan that came to me with bolted on repair ears. I had a rusted out three dip pan that had the correct three rivet ears and I used a frame checked for square to align everything before tack welding them in place so I could remove the bolts and rivet and braze.

While inside my engine I took a better look at my drums. The reverse had a hairline crack across one of the webs and my low speed had rivet marks and other wear on the OD. I ordered three drums from Dave Nolting and used a centerdrill to remove the old riviets and my press to reset the rivets. I am delighted these quality replacements are available versus salvaging old drums.

What have I done to my Model T in February’26? Pulled the motor for a total rebuild! Looks like I forgot to drain the oil before yanking the crusty 4 banger out…. My car has a build date of August 23, 1926. It’s titled as a 1926 but I believe it’s a 1927. I’ve already rebuilt the Vaporizer carburetor, recored the radiator, and repainted the hood pieces and new old stock hood shelves, as well as repainted the radiator shroud. Next is to do body work and paint on frame and fenders, rebuild the motor and transmission. Im slowly restoring the car from front to back! Thanks to Nathan for helping me tonight pull the motor. Also thanks to my good friend Mike Silbert for giving me last minute advice on dropping the wishbone to get more clearance! The best time to work on T’s is in the still of the night in a cold unheated garage… haha!
Let’s see if I can get this car on the road by August 23, 2026 for its 100th birthday!

Not necessarily work on one of my Ts but I applied for a replacement Passport so I can go to the London, Ontario tour in July. My current passport expires in May. Also soaked a set of 1926 license plates in vinegar, rinsed and steel-wooled off the rust and scant residual paint, and put the base coat of silver on them prior to painting the black numbers.

I have a ‘26 Tudor that I replaced rear axle shafts, installed safety hubs, new Ford hubs, and installed hydraulic disc brakes. Also new LED turn signals, brake lights, and running lights, also the brake lighter in rear window. For my safety and all others on the road.
Getting the car ready to display at a Ford dealership on April 1st in honor of its 100th birthday!

I finished installing my roll-up curtain top kit just in time to participate in the Barcelona-Sitges Rally for the first time. It runs along the Mediterranean Sea with a healthy dose of hills and curves. Beautiful views for the copilot. The rings and bearings are breaking in nicely, and engine power is getting better all the time. The car show on the first day took 45 minutes to reach, cruising at 75 kph (47 mph), the car and engine felt happy at that speed. At the rally on the second day, I was able to easily pass a few other cars on the uphill climbs (2 of them were Model T Runabouts like mine).

Our local Caprock Classic Car Club always features three member vehicles on its annual car show T Shirt selected through a random drawing. This year, Clarabelle, my TT delivery truck was selected so she got her picture taken last weekend. I serviced her and cleaned her up but of course found at the last minute that the seven year old Tractor Supply 6 volt battery had given up the ghost over the winter. I quickly borrowed the Optima 6 volt out of my 34 Fordor and away we went. The pictures turned out great but my OCD is being triggered by the Optima showing in the attached photo. Oh well, the next project is now underway to redo the battery tray to proper configuration.

Groomed and serviced my Centerdoor from its last income producing appearance last year and had the Model T Whisperer Ross Lilleker rebuild the Wizard carburetor. I discovered it was all clogged up with green groad that Ross attributed to 87 Octane Ethanol gas. Been using gas station gas since started in Model Ts back in ‘66. Now have all 5 gallon containers full of non Ethanol just for the antiques. Now the Centerdoor is ready for her next gig in austin next week.

You can use E-10 as long as the vehicle is being used often. (Be sure it's fresh) For storage, E-0 is best.
