New Leaf Springs Question

Question: Is there any difference in quality of leaf springs from Mac's, Snyder's, or Lang's? The prices are quite a bit different. '27 Touring.

Front 8-leaf
Langs 3800CL8:v $225 unclear if clips/bushings included
Snyders T-3801-B7: $250 with clips/bushings
Macs T-3800-B: $420 no clamps/bushings

Rear 9-leaf
Langs 3824CL9: $447 unclear if clips/bushings included
Snyders T-3824-B8: $435 no clamps/bushings
Macs 3824: $520 no clamps/bushings

My springs look to be original...very pitted and passengers in the back seat bottom out on any bump, so I plan to replace them with fresh springs, bushings, etc. A response to my Facebook post on the same question yielded yet another vendor, http://t-springs.com/. Which springs to buy? Decisions, decisions.

Raymond:

If you end up buying new springs I would like one of your rear leaf springs, just one. I am rebuilding the rear end on my 1916 Runabout and found the 3rd spring from the bottom is broken through the center bolt. I'd be happy to purchase one.

Thanks,
Mike

Mike, Certainly! It'll be a little while though. I have to save some pennies.

We have buying our Model A springs from Travis. They come to use with brass bushings installed.

Mike,....Front and rear springs from the last 2 Model T years are entirely different from the brass era. They’re arched differently and the ends aren’t tapered. Some expert will correct me if I’m wrong..... they always do..

George, good catch. I did not even notice his was a 27!

Anybody got a 16 spring they don't need? Or know where I can get one?

Thanks,
Mike

Pretty sure the difference is that the supplier is selling to Snyder's and Langs directly. Mac's then buying from them. Same spring.
A thought is to have a local person roll a new base leaf. They will use slightly thicker stock. Better support especially for the front. I did this years and thousands of miles ago. Still happy.
