Dealership in NJ
I so want to have my car's picture taken in front of this building, but except for Google Earth, it is RARE to find this place without cars parked in front of it.

Re: Dealership in NJ
Quite a few years ago, a few of us wanted to try to duplicate a locally famous photo taken in Grass Valley in the late 1910s. It never happened because conflicting schedules just didn't seem to work, and frankly, a couple of us (including me due to my disintegrating family issues) didn't try hard enough. I since had to sell the two cars I needed to have there.
Our idea was to get together at sunrise on a Sunday morning. About sunup, the lighting would be good, and we would have had time to stake out our positions in front of the buildings which are all still standing and decent looking. Unless that dealership building is in an area where people park all night? That would be my suggestion.
Otherwise, get a few friends to grab the four spaces in front of the building as they empty. Then VERY quickly move them out, the T in, and snap the photo fast!

Photoshop usually doesn't look that good unless the angle and lighting in both the building photo and car photo are compatible. If you have a photo you think would work I could play with it and see. Just for fun when I have time.

Re: Dealership in NJ
Well here is another suggestion...buy the building and post no parking signs in front! Then you could even park your car inside and take pictures!

Re: Dealership in NJ
Dennis, why buy the building? Just put up the no parking signs and go for it!

Re: Dealership in NJ
I don't have photo shop - just Windows Paint, very limited but I thought I give it a try (some cut & past, brush etc) . You might get a couple of friends to park in front of the building ahead and behind your T and when ready they can move out and block traffic for a quick photo, Enjoy

Re: Dealership in NJ
What a fascinating building. It looks like it has been re-purposed since it was a car dealership/workshop, going by the shopfronts. i wonder how much longer it will stand. There is some serious undulations in the brickwork on the upper storey, the upper storey window lintels are all over the place, and some of the lower ones are also a bit wonky.
I can certainly see why the photo is desired.

Re: Dealership in NJ
The sign in front of the building indicates that one store front is a Farmers Market opened on Monday 2:30 to 4:30. New Jersey trucking farming is still active. Also the undulations in the building when viewed from the front are due from the rotating Google Camera as it moves past the front of the building, the drive-by street pictures are a composite . The second photo shows a flat front
