A nice upholstery trick

When installing the welting on your door panels the edge of the welting lifts giving an unfinished look. Lay some masking tape along the lifted edge so you dont get any glue on the door panel then apply some black weather strip adhesive with a toothpick in the crease, press it closed and put another piece of tape to hold it tight until it dries. It really works nice.
Learned this trick from Hank Lee, I must give credit where credit is due

Good idea Doug and Hank. Thanks for sharing it. I’m going to retroinstall (new word) the welting on my ‘14 using this method next week !!

That welting has to go around curves with a series of straight lines. If you wish to use tape, do it.

Good timing for this tip! I am contemplating tackling that part of my project in the next few weeks. Now I just need to find a source of cheap but acceptable tacks for it. Maybe I could simply glue everything together, then use thumb tacks painted black for appearances?

Thank you for a good suggestion. Ignore my silly idea.

Make a clip out of sheet metal to hold the kick panel to the floor board riser to hold it to the curve

So I have a 26 touring and the doors have the "Buttons" in them. Do they just push in the holes? Do I need to cut the old ons out?

I could not get that nice round crown on the seat back until I cut a strip of dense foam that you sleep on in a tent and hogringed it to the top of the spring. It worked really well.
