KW Coil Box Id

The KW coil box pictured was found in the back seat of a 1913 Ford Touring. The box shows traces of red paint on the front.
It does not appear to be repainted.
All the boxes I’ve seen have black and gold graphics.
Can someone identify the year of the KW box pictured?

Thank you,
Gene

Steve,

Do you believe that the traces of red paint are original to the box?

In my very limited experience, I've not seen a KW with red graphics.

I cannot verify what was the original color scheme on those switches but I do have a switch cover with red color in it's composition - not sure if it's a NOS or very old reproduction - only red one I've seen. I'll get a photo tomorrow.

Here’s one I bought at a swap meet 2 weeks ago. Pretty nice original condition and painted black. Too bad it doesn’t have a lid...

Forgot to mention; I posted this to show the seemingly original black paint (not stained & varnished). The brass switch plate is likely a replacement.

A side view of that box would nail it! The red paint on the switch place was done at a later date. The only paint on the switch plate when new was in the KW circle. Your coil box has been revarnished at some point. They were originally the same color as the firewall.

Adam:
If you will look at the top edge of your coilbox, there are traces of the original red stain. You are fortunate to have that box. Randall Andersons brother Jon can make you a new lid. I've discovered not all 1913 KW lids are interchangeable! I've probably owned a half dozen 1913 KW coil boxes over the years.
