I had the opportunity to ride in the back seat of Forum Member Gil Fitzhugh's 1914 Touring on the "Red Dirt Tour" held on Prince Edward Island Canada. I can definitely say that there was no false advertising in the tour title. Here are a few photos of the week.

My wife & I were on the tour. The folks on PEI did an awesome job! We had a wonderful time. Best seafood anywhere! (Where can I get a lobster roll in Michigan!?!?!?) Nicest people you'll ever want to find. Really, we hated to leave.

We had a wonderful week and I want to thank the host region for all of their hard work, and Gil for taking us along for the ride!

I heartily second the idea that this was a fabulous tour. An example of the attention to detail: At every intersection that might have been troublesome, there was a sign telling us which way to go. That meant someone had to go out on tour putting up signs, and go back on tour at the end of the day to take them down. Since I never found an error in the instructions, this was just a way to be extra sure that no one got lost. With almost 150 cars on the tour, there was never a traffic jam. The scenery was gorgeous, and the destinations were wonderful. These folks did it right; I'm in awe, and grateful.
And I enjoyed having Wayne and Paul as passenger/navigators. They were good company.

My wife, Mary and I did the red dirt tour in our 1911 touring. It was a wonderful experience. The routes were laid out perfectly. The scenery was beautiful. I was surprised that there was a Amish Settlement there. The hotel was nice, but I was shocked that they did not offer a small breakfast included. $17.00 per person is a little high. We went to Mcdonald's a couple of days and then bought some cereal to eat in the room.
I think that we drove close to 600 miles on the tour. The day of the accident, we got turned back from the tour route and we drove 200 miles that day. (we got misplaced)
The opening breakfast was good and the closing banquet was excellent. We both had Lobster. Jim Snair and his committee did fabulous job on every part of the tour. On the day we were heading home, Jim was there shaking our hands as we left the Hotel.
We had a little trouble getting to the Hotel the first night. Our cell phones did not work. ( AT&T wanted $1.00 a minute or $10.00 a day for usage )
Our GPS did not work above the border. ( I found out later that the areas that we were going to had to be down loaded ).
Any way we had a good time. We have to get the car cleaned up ( Red Dirt Off ) for the MTFCA tour in TN.
Thank you PEI,
Pete Ratledge

I will post two more pictures. Like most of us on the forum, I have had a fascination with Model T Fords since childhood. Here is a photo of me at a car show in Vermont Park in Mequon, Wisconsin taken about 1962:
Here is a photo of Gil Fitzhugh's car, that I rode in the back seat of, some 57 years later:
