Is this an early 1926 Roadster PU or Runabout

Post by havnfun » Sun Jul 28, 2019 12:07 pm

Looking to learn if this body is actually a early 26 Roadster PU body. It had a pickup box on it, seller wouldn’t part with the pickup box. Only sold this body, no holes in back of quarter panels for Turtle Deck.

Here is a picture of the inside, visibly there are no brakets to bolt a deck to!

If more pictures of different areas are needed, I will be happy to take them and upload.

Looks so similar like my old Nov. '25 mfg. runabout pickup. Same features, 3 holes at cowl for stanchion, stepped door post at cowl, no captive nuts in the upper rear tub sides for a turtle deck, zinc sill plates, zinc escutcheons for door side curtain rods.

I have 2 1926-1927 turtle decks. One deck has the bolt holes on the forward uprights that match the tub side holes. The other deck doesn't have any holes and I wondered why the difference. Now thanks to this thread I know the difference!

Thanks,
H

I agree with Dan. It has the early 26 features. A picture of the inside of the door and a picture of the firewall would let me see if the early features are also on those parts.

Donnie, hope these help, let me know if you would like more. Sorry for the pictures being sideways, it's an iPhone thing I guess. I can take better pictures of the firewall tomorrow during the day..
