I have a nice (non generator) Atwater Kent plate and distributor and am concerned about the drive gear for the end of the cam. The gear that came with the set-up has no threads or locking notch and I'm wondering if it's the correct drive gear or is there something missing. Thanks : Bruce

You appear to have the correct gear. There is really no need for a locking feature if you think about it. The 9/16 nut on the end of the cam, when tightened is more than sufficient to keep the gear from moving. We make the replacement gear sets and often get a call that "you forgot the keyway" when the originals never had one.

Thanks Dan. The shoulders are not exactly the same width so is there a front and back to the drive gear? Thanks again : Bruce
