National Cookville tour

Just returned from the National tour in Cookeville, TN. George and Ramona along with the best group of volunteers from the Tenn T's I have ever seen, put on an outstanding tour. Great but challenging roads, exceptional lunches with drive through service, and lots of ice cold water for the 90 degree heat. Throw in fun and interesting sights to see, a top notch ending banquet and some really good bluegrass music to boot.
The entire 5 days were well planned and just a whole bunch of fun.
There should be pictures posted soon on there TN T website soon, after everyone gets some well deserved rest!

Tom,
It was an honor to serve our guests with the team George and Ramona Akin put together. Members of the Tennessee T’s, MTFCA Board plus their spouses and venue staff such as at the T. B. Sutton General Store, Museum, Garage, Blacksmith Shop in the historic Granville, TN contributed nicely. Teamwork was the common theme. The vulture wagon only transported 15 cars. Attendees can validate there are HILLS in Tennessee on the one lane gravel roads along the many streams. Thank you to all who were able to join us.

I was there too. My wife and I had a great time. Thank you Tennessee T's. Great group.
We particularly enjoyed the many waterfalls and the short nature hikes to view them. The falls were spectacular. We will come back to this beautiful area.
There was one road that was not much more than a wagon trail. Single lane with a washout that tested my car's suspension. Many roads were low band only. One road we went up was low Ruckstell and low band. Most roads were shaded by trees which make the heat a little more bearable.
Best tour for me this year. Thanks again George and Ramona.

It was a great tour indeed. Thanks to George, Ramona, and crew for a job well done. Spokane will have a tough act to follow indeed.

Thank you to George, Ramona and all of the Tennessee T's volunteers. Yes the roads were often (very) challenging, but we made it. I understand that there were 2 broken crankshafts, 1 rod problem, and a broken end of a rear axle shaft. Don't know about the others. The drive through box lunch pickup was really nice. Yes, the temps were hot and the roads often narrow and challenging, but we had a great time!!!

Best tour I have ever attended ! The planning and support by so many was outstanding. Can not say enough good about this wonderful event and the people that worked so hard to make it all come together. The Bar was raised high on this one.

Jim- I was going to keep this event private between you and me, but, since you brought the subject up- I'll post another picture. If the forum readers will zoom WAAAAY in they will see the dog on the radiator is pee-ing at you.
My attached photo shows that the dog made a DIRECT-HIT. Look at Jim's shirt,
That radiator cap was a real hit with the locals who walked in front of the car. The local boys really got a kick out of getting sprayed and even came back for a re-play.

Yep, their identities have been blurred out to keep their mommas from fussing.
