1922 Center Door (Maybe I should start a dedicated thread)

Keeping myself busy by removing the tattered upholstery from the rear seat backrest spring assembly.

Taking note of a few things, like how the assembly of the upholstery differs from how modern kits are installed. The spring is covered by white cloth, with padding on top of that, then burlap, then the seat materials.

The backrest is finished off by tacking a piece of upholstery welting across the back and at the bottom of the material just above the two finger holes (across the length)

Hi Will,

Could you please post a photo of the "clip" at the top center of the backrest that hooks into the "loop" on the car framework under the oval window? I have seen the "loop" in my reusable items but we did not have a backrest nor seat base when we purchased our center door.

I hope those articles helped you figure your widows out.

Thank You,
Terry

I'll post it sometime tomorrow. I'm going over to a guy's house to get an engine running.

Here’s the clip that slides into the rear belt rail

Will,

Thank You. That's pretty much exactly what I expected. Just a flat bar bent to fit to hold the seatback in place.

Good Luck,
Terry
