The swastika didn't have Nazi connotations until the Nazi Party adopted it.

Dean,

I have an early style combination wrench made by Buffum with the swastica logo on it. Several years ago we did a club tour to Louisiana. They had a mural on a downtown wall about Buffum tool co., so I went to the library there to see if I could find out any more about the company. The librarian had absolutely no idea of what I was talking about, so I never learned any more about the company.

I have some of those bearing scrapers. They precede the nazi era.

I found this in a bucket of junk and couldn’t figure out what it was until I saw this ad.

There are 3 sizes to the bearing scrapers shown in the original post. They were 3" , 3.5" & 4" from tip to shoulder of the shaft. I have two complete sets.

The Buffum Tool Co. Produced tools for just about every type of craft that existed up until the early 1920s.

They produce a set of tools specifically for the Ford motor car. They are listed as "carbon scrapers" to remove carbon from the combustion chamber and valve & heads without removal of the head. I have 2 sets of these. One set is stamped "ORD" as used by the military at the time.

I collect Buffum tools of anyone wants to part with any that they have or I have a catalog of their tools from the era.

I have the remains of a Buffum jack, which I am re-purposing as a desk lamp stand. Once it is finished, and I re-learn how to post photos, I will show it. The jack looks to have been a climb -the -pole type, similar to that used in Volkswagen beetles. There are no gears or sprockets or threaded shafts.

I have a complete jack like you describe and it still works.
I couldn't figure out in my earlier post how to get photos to add either. Victim's motto was "High Grade Tools for High Grade Workmen".

I have hammers, chisels, screwdrivers, concrete finishers, saws, punches, wrenches, packing tools and an empty wheel dressing tool along with some household tools.
