Model T engine put to good use...

We were at Mercer Moravian Pottery and Tile Works Museum in Doylestown, Pa. today.

As we were heading down the staircase toward the kiln area, my eye was caught by this Model T Ford engine sitting on a little makeshift chassis.

I have seen videos and pictures of how farmers and sawmill folks hooked these up to a belt to power various machinery to get work completed. Really, super cool.

I was actually able to explain Model Ts, their engines and the fact that they were the ultimate power source for a myriad of different uses.

Imagine that...me explaining something to museum personnel!

Aside from the tile works and Mercer’s home nearby I hope you went to the Mercer Museum in town. It’s a museum that specializes in technology from 1860 on back. My favorite museum in the whole world and a real influence since I was a little boy. In later years I demonstrated violin and tintype making and also performed a traveling medicine show.

Mark, you bet! I have gone to the museum since about age 7. Visited Fonthill earlier this summer, and was there once when I was a kid. This summer was the trifecta! Definitely the coolest 😎 places on earth.

I think we have met. I have followed your posts, videos and FB stuff.
