Does anyone make or reproduce the differential gear 2502B that fits on the end of the drive shaft? Does a NOS 2502B have a special value?

That gear (from your description of location) is called “pinion”.
There are a number of different versions ranging from
9 tooth meshes with a 40 tooth crown
10 tooth meshes with a 40 tooth crown
11 tooth meshes with a 40 tooth crown
12 tooth meshes with a 39 or a 40 tooth crown
13 tooth meshes with a 39 or a 40 tooth crown
So you need to figure out which version you want
Generally they are available new from the usual suppliers (although I have heard recently that they are back ordered).

I was looking for a standard ratio (3.01:1) ring and pinion set. Many suppliers said they are back ordered until November. You might be able to locate just the pinion though.

And I always thought that 3.63-1 was the “standard ratio”!

Glen Chaffin just posted a few days ago that they now have the 12 tooth pinion is stock. With the39 tooth ring gear that's 3:25 and with the 40 tooth ring it's 3.33.

It is not a pinion gear. It is the 24 tooth 2502B gear. Look in your original parts book. It is the gear that goes on the end of the drive shaft. It is called the differenial gear in the parts book. The photo it is the gear. the suds of the short and long radiator studies. i have a box of old NOS ones from a Ford deal in 1955.

That is studs for the radiator hold down. I have several hundred of the NOS. $2 each. I have an extra 24 tooth 2502B for sale. It has the original black finish, no rust. I do not know what to ask for it. No one lists it for sale.

I will post a page from a 1911 parts book.. the 2520B is a revision.

You posted a photo of a #2520 which is a differential gear not a driveshaft pinion that mates to the ring gear - I cannot find a 2502 in any of my parts books ?

I posted a photo of the 2520 becuse that is what I have. I called it the diferenial gear becasue that is what it is. if you read =my correction, you would know I am correct in what I caled 2520. That is the part I have. It is on the end of the drive shaft and mates with ring gear. If it is not one on the drive shaft , what where does it get its power to drive the ring gear.? It sure looks like the one on the end of my extra drive shaft. Where did you look for 2502? I corrected my post, 2502 is the left axle housing. I just mixed up and posted"02"rather than"20".

YOU ARE RIGHT. I WAS MIXING UP NAMES AND USES. Does 2520 go on each axle? I just checked the parts book and that it is it. My error and I did not check the drive shaft and I now realize that there has to be a variety on number of pinions to drive the ring gears. So does a new 2520 have ny value? Once one makes an assumption, it seems to hang on.

Thanks, what is a NOS 2520 worth?

I believe your photo and the one (2520) is the axle drive gear, not a pinion gear nor a differential gear. It's what is pressed on the axle and then retained by the two "C" clips. Believing this to be true, looking back at your picture appears to confirm this.

You call it a differential gear, which technically and by parts book, it is, and say it goes on the drive shaft, and I THINK you mean it goes on the axle shaft.

I know of no one reproducing this, but would suggest you contact Hank in "Tin-a-see" as he has EVERYTHING in his stash

I guess the issue is that there are LOTS of axle gears and I don’t recall a worn out one

I was confusing spider gears with pinion gears. I have NOS of both somewhere. I ran into 4 or 5 NOS. 2520s the other day. Now do radiator bolts nos have any value. I have 100 or two of them.
