It's interesting that you posted this link. I've been watching stuff at the Aumann site for a while and intended to post it but you beat me to it. LOTS of neat rusty old stuff to look at and maybe bid on.

Tom the guy I work with knew Allen and asked me to bring my laptop to the shop yesterday. His brother Frank has done some T Babbitt work for me. Another friend has a Catapiller 60 so am watching a few parts for him. It is at least close to go pickup anything we might win. Almost too much stuff!!! Missed the first group that ended yesterday.

Yeah, too much stuff is right. When I was a kid my grandfather used a Caterpillar Two Ton to tend his orchard. There was one in the first group, but it needed a lot of work. My son just bought 10 acres and I told him I was gonna try for the old Cat in the auction. He looked at me like I had two heads and said, "What the heck are you gonna do with a 95 year old tractor?" I responded, "Pull stuff. What else would you do with a tractor?"

In the end I decided to pass, but it was tempting.

Someone from Pennsylvania bought a Stanley along with parts yesterday - they want it hauled.

There are several auctions going on because of the amount of stuff. The auction the Stanly sold, ended yesterday. Another is ending today and then there are more that are ending in several days and later. Next spring they are planing to have a whats left auction. None of them so far, have had any shop equipment.

I think someone got a good deal on the 1911 touring. The auction's description didn't do the car any justice and they only showed a photo of the left side of the engine. Had they shown the right side, bidders would have seen it was an open valve engine and a six rivet rearend. With exception of the shade of blue, it was a pretty nice car and looked mostly correct.

I did not see any engine pictures of the 1911. It looked like it had a Ray Wells body. I agree the blue was too light.

Is there any way to see the selling prices of the complete sales?

Inquiring minds want to know!

Click on the link posted by Mark, then click on "Auctions" in the upper left corner, then in the drop down menu click on "Completed Auctions". It will show you completed auctions. You must open the catalogue and scroll through it to see results for any given item.

Looks like the real deals were in the smaller tractors and more common stuff. The Silver King was a deal, the Thielman would have brought more than that unrestored here, the D Gibson was cheap, the Ford 8n with the sickle bar mower for $1400 was cheap. But the big players don't want that kind of stuff and for somebody like me it is a 1400 mile trip and probably a thousand dollars in expenses to go get stuff. One little tractor costs about as much to haul as three or four. Wish I had paid more attention. Nah, I got too much crap already. But there was money to be made.

I scrolled through some of the older auctions. Some good buys, but boy oh boy. Some of that old junk sure brought in some big money!

Does anyone know Bob Streiter in Ridgefield?

If you just looked at the photos on the auction listing, you would not have known about the engine. I went to the open house and saw the car up close. They had the left side of the hood open, which as you know for that year, doesn't show the serial number, nor much about it. When I opened the right side, I saw it was an open valve. I don't have the serial number handy, but it was correct for an earlier 1911. The rear end was a six rivet. The pan was a 7-rivet with inspection plate, but I believe to be correct it should have a one piece pan. The front axle and frame were correct too. Even if a Ray Wells body, I think it was a buy.

I've been in the early tractor collecting for years and the big rare stuff sold for about the average/normal price. I think the Far-Mor tractor ( the gas tractor which looks like a steamer) went low, as I estimated it should have brought near $100,000, due to the rarity. The IHC Mogul went fairly high at $63,000 as I estimated it would have been around $35 to $40 K. There's still a strong market in the scarce-rare tractor hobby.

I can't help you figure out how to see it on your phone, but the Antique Car and Truck Parts auction, in the Auction Info. section says "Pickup for ALL on September 26th, 27th, 28th and 29th at 9AM-4PM"

I'm going to assume you are speaking of the Schurman Auction in Washington. If you are not able to pick up your items we have put the following shipping policy in place:



We will ship large items that will fit on a 4ft x 4ft x 4ft pallet back to our facility in Nokomis, IL for a later pick up date there for $250/pallet.



With the volume and variety of items offered at this auction we will work with all buyers and shippers to determine what the best option for shipping is best for you on an individual basis.



We will be partnering with Postal Annex (a local shipping center) to pack and ship your smaller items. Those cost will be separate and will be charged by the shipper at their rates. Postal Annex's main goal is to ship your items to ensure that they get to you in the condition that you purchase them in. Given the situation of the auction they will not be able to provide quotes/estimates of shipping costs. If you wish to make other (a different shipping company) arrangements, you will need to notify Aumann Auctions, Inc. prior to the first dat of pickup.



For those who buy larger grouping or heavier items that cannot be shipping by the local shipper we will work with a crating/shipping service by a third-party provider. Those expenses will be due to that provider from the buyer.
