Do you suppose that the RR is for Railroad or River Rouge?

Ed,Ford had their own railroad with the DT&I so i think they also had railroad shops with tools.What i would like to find someday is one of the 300 992B Hamilton railroad watches Ford bought for the DT&I. Bud.

If you look real close it's RRY. That's definitely a rail road wrench. Now the big question is: Which railway? Could well be the DT&I, but could be any railway that got hold of a FORD script wrench.

Thanks for the replies. I snapped a closer view of the RR. What follows the RR, is the manufacturer's stamp. It reads "COES WRENCH CO. WORCESTER MASS USA"

Sorry, From your other photo, it looked like a faint Y instead of the Ws that are actually there.

Still a nice wrench any way you look at it.

And you found the Ford script ...... where ?

Look at the 2ed photo.

After looking at the 2nd photo You can see the Ford script and the other markings after the larger RR.
After looking closely at it to me the RR was stamped on it afterwards the Ford script and other wording. It wasn’t stamped at the same time.
Interesting! We had the same size if not larger wrench just like that on the farm for years which leads me to go look closely at it again for any markings. I used it when I was growing up working on tractors and farm machinery.

I assume that the term "Monkey" wrench came from those wrenches. Makes sense to me. I wonder if the "RR" was the mechanic's initials? Dave

I think if one were to look at a copy of the Ford Industries they would see how Large Ford was and brass tag Tool Checks are still easily found on E-Bay. Auto maker's still stamp tools such as make and dept. Bud.
