Thrust washer for sale, 1/3 off

Post by Thorlick » Tue Oct 01, 2019 1:01 pm

I appologize as the photos I tried to post with this refuse to show unless listed afterwards as attachments. The forum error says they cannot read image dimensions.

I am finally starting work on the Omnibus. Up first is the Ruckstell I bought for it (see first attachment). Examining this all seems well, too much play in the shifter arm may require a bushing. The ring gear looks good (attachmnet second) but is greasy, dirty. I am wondering if it can be cleaned out closed... no I better open it and inspect.

But first I start wire brushing rust and crud off the outside when I hear a "klunk" when I turn it over. A thrust washer dropped out and is shown below (attachment third). Well I am planning on using bronze washers so I am hereby offering this babbit bearing 1/3 off !!!).

The fellow who sold me the Ruckstell obviously left that lower torque tube and drive shaft out in the rain, it shrunk! Even the pinion shrunk... only ten teeth. (attachment last)
