This tool is shown in the cabinet in one of the 1926 KRW tool catalogs but it is not listed in same. I tried it on an T front axle to remove perches but as is does not sit inline with threaded end, it sits at an angle. Ideas? Thought maybe Lincoln or tractor?

This KRW tool might be referred to as “The Mother of all front spring perch pullers”. It was a late addition to the Wilson Model T line appearing after the 1926 catalog went to print. It does appear in a 1930 tool catalog that I have a photo copy of.

The screw goes on the threaded end of a Model T spring perch while it is installed in a front axle. Two steel pins go through the 4 holes in the lower part of the puller holding it on the axle. Then the screw is turned, pushing the perch out of the axle.

While the tool is well built, it is not always completely effective. I have one, and while it works on moderately stuck perches, it does not work on really stuck front perches.

First it was not the 26 but the 29 catalog that it is shown in the T tool cabinet but could not find it listed as an item in same catalog. I tried it on a T axle, as I said, it wants to press the perch at an angle. So I wonder if there was a sleeve that went on one of the pins so the tool sat straight in line with the end of the perch? Not disagreeing with what it is, just as it sits would not work as intend.

Mark, Try it on a Model A front perch, I believe they sit a about that angle.

Mark what kind of animal is that in the 3rd picture is that a seal?

Would not fit on an A perch, the radius rod goes over and under the axle.
Re the animal, well it's low like a seal but that's Murphy, the shop Basset hound.
