Re: Pen and ink and sketches.
Again it's time to make up a Swap Meet poster for our local club.
Here is the sketch: Assorted characters who have attended over the years.
Here is the same sketch with watercolor added: It's good practice. I haven't had cause to use watercolor much.

Re: Pen and ink and sketches.
It’s one thing to take a photo and and repost it. Pretty simple actually. However, to use your minds eye to realize an image only within your thought process is something a lot of us try as well. Getting the instrument at your fingertips to respond to the wishes of your vision is a special ability few of us have. I only wish I could draw like Rich does. It is a special talent. Thanks so much for sharing your visions with us.

Re: Pen and ink and sketches.
That's nice of you to say Tom. Much like the processes you use to put your vision into sheetmetal it's a magical thing and fun to see the results. Most of us can do things if we want to put the time and effort into it. I'm glad this forum it here to share things on. Those wonderful black & white photos you find sure inspire me.
There are always more great things to come here.

Another one of your beautiful, colorized sketches and I always enjoy them.
But since you have your watercolors out today you may as well do the Easter eggs!

I'm not sure I can stop. Professor Davis would be horrified at how much I have forgotten about watercolors. It is fun and keeps me out of Joy's kitchen though.

That's a good question Dallas. Perhaps we should ask one of the motorcycle patrolmen from the fleece department.

When I saw that movie I thought I saw daylight through the hood where the engine should be. Now I'm not sure but they likely had removed anything heavy that didn't show.

Here are a few from about 25 years ago. Always wanted a Model A hot rod. Ohh how times have changed. Guess I should try to sketch out a T soon.

Re: Pen and ink and sketches.
I've done a fair bit of speedster but most of it is working on profile etc as I am poor when it comes to art. I can then sketch them in acad to get a feel of how it works. Here is the rough sketch for a '27 speedster and the acad for the '12 baby chadwick

Wheels (especially artillery wheels) are the test of an able draughtsman. Automobiles in general are a difficult subject. Many otherwise able artists fall down badly when they attempt to render a car. It's fun to see these drawings from "car guys" ! Mighty fine !

Re: Pen and ink and sketches.
I love this concept !! Imagine:
"Our "Ol' Faithful" Duesenberg supercharged model J. Was a purty good car in its day, but awful hard on gasoline. We used to joke she'd pass anything but a gas station! I used it in latter years to pull the manure spreader, then she just plumb wore out, I guess. Them ball-bearings must've locked up the rear end, and so we parked it to rust away under the big spruce tree. The kids used to like to play in it until the leather upholstery got too hard and brittle and the springs come through. Pheasant hunters shot out the windshield fall before last, dang them ! Maybe some ol' car guy will come by and offer to haul it off for a couple hundred before she gets too far gone ? I kinda hate to part with her. Maybe we'll get around to fixin' her up sometime."
Goes without saying that's a masterful drawing !

Re: Pen and ink and sketches.
I don't suppose there are too many Barn Find Duesenbergs out there. I remember the rumor about a local one that went the way of the Packard that belonged to Mae West or Jean Harlow.
We had 2 Duesenbergs attend our Jackson Hole Tour in 1978. A J and an earlier one.
Impressive to see.
