Stipe cam
Reading online but never heard stipe 280 cam cant use adjustable lifters?
And then looked in langs says same thing??
I also found I need shave .018 off my new front cam bearing is this common issue
With stip cam?

I don’t know about shaving the bearing, but but I’m running the.280 for several years and have adjustable lifters .

Reading it, not all blocks are the same in that area, some have more room. Depending on how the foot is made, you could run into the same issue with repo stock lifters I would think.

I've never heard of any issues in using adjustables on the 280, as George states I've ran the same for several years. And as for the bearing, yes new ones sometimes need turning in the lathe for a final fit.

Could also mean, you do not need a "SPECIAL" lifter. I would consider an adjustable lifter to be equal to non adjustable as a direct replacement.

Haven't seen the lifters that had a higher stem base for several years, the ones on the market today are machined with a nice taper, just a quick touch with a drill bit or stone to chamfer the block guide holes to just make sure on clearance on the high lift cams is all that is needed.

I purchased a Stipe cam when they first came out years ago.
I have had adjustable lifters from the beginning - no issues.

I looked at Langs’ catalog for Stipe cams. It says they “can be used with stock lifters”. It doesn’t say you can’t use adjustable lifters. I take that to mean no special lifters required. I have put in several Stipe cams with adjustable lifters with no problems.

I had to relieve the back side of 3 lifter bores last year, to clear a tour-grind Stipe cam (250?)
It just depends on your block. It isn't hard or even time consuming to remedy
