Marking on rear spring
This is on the top leaf on a 20’s rear spring. Does it make any sense to anyone?

Re: Marking on rear spring
Don,
I have just restored (sandblasted, primed and painted) a set of rear springs. On the end of the largest spring eye that same word is impressed with no number. I was wondering if it was the name of the manufacturer/supplier because also impressed on the spring leaf upper surface in two place is impressed the word FORDX. I know this does not answer your question but validates your findings. I too am interested to know more.
Have a great day,
Dom

Re: Marking on rear spring
Look for the Mather Spring Company of Toledo, Ohio. They are listed in a few different trade journals/books of the day, S.A.E. Handbook (1929) and different iterations of the Chilton Automobile Directory. Here is a link to an earlier post where someone had found a Mather made spring.Dom Denio wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2019 3:05 pmOn the end of the largest spring eye that same word is impressed with no number.
