Hi! After assembling the engine I have a problem with the second gear. After shifting the gear up, it loses traction and the engine
Is running without affecting the wheels. Where to adjust it?

Is it just a band adjusting issue?

The bands have nothing to do with high gear. When the transmission is in high only the clutch is engaged. The clutch is located in the brake drum which is closest to the rear of the car. You adjust the clutch tighter by screwing in the adjusting screws in the three clutch pressure fingers. Before you adjust anything though you should make sure that the bolt on the clutch release lever is clearing the cam on the hand brake cross shaft when the lever is fully forward. If the bolt is still contacting the cam with the lever all the way forward it will prevent the clutch from fully engaging.

Before you replace anything or make any other adjustments, check the length of the brake rods. If they are adjusted too long, your hand lever will not go all the way forward in high gear. This will cause the bolt in the clutch lever to engage the cam on the cross shaft and hold the transmission in neutral. Proper adjustment is when you take out the clevis pins at the cross shaft and move the lever all the way forward and push the rods all the way back, you can put the pin in without forcing anything. (Note you might need to make some minor adjustment to get the brakes to stop evenly). Also check the notch in the floorboard. It too could be keeping the parking lever from going all the way forward.
Next thing to check is the link between the foot brake pedal and the clutch lever on the transmission. See diagram on "adjusting for free neutral". If these two easy checks don't produce the desired result, adjustment of the clutch fingers inside the transmission should be done. Lastly if all else fails, you might need to replace the clutch disks which is a major job.

if you have original FORD clutch plates, you can troubleshoot this with little fear.
However, if you have an aftermarket, WATTS or Jackrabbit, or TURBO clutch, you must NOT let it slip anymore or it will completely ruin them, and then you will be taking it back apart.

Go back through the adjustments as described by others, including making sure the clutch lever bolt is OFF of the handbrake cam when running in high gear (handbrake all the way forward). On a new engine, it is not totally unusual to have to tighten the 3 clutch fingers in the transmission (through the top door), to get a little more pressure on the clutch disks. Only turn 1/2 turn at a time (all 3). Reinstall cotterpins, and test.
