Anderson Timer Questions
Just checking to see if someone makes or repairs the flapper assy for the Anderson timer. My motor tried to start backwards and broke the weld on the rotor. I figured it is either not available or too much to repair. If not available, I was thinking about trying the TW timer. How do people who have used them like them? Thanks for the info.

Yes, check your parts catalog. If you don't have current catalogs, time to get 'em, they are free or check the online catalogs Snyder Lang Chaffin Mac etc.
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!

Thanks, I had looked but only saw the whole assy. That's what I need.

Re: Anderson Timer Questions
Doug, regardless of the timer, it's a really good practice to fully retard the spark just before turning off. That way, when you go to start (and you automatically check the spark lever, like you should) you now have effectively double checked for proper timing. This is especially important for stem-winders and folks like me, where other interuptions may break your train of thought...

I always do Scott. This time when it started it misfired and puffed out the carb a few times. When it restarted it seemed ok, but only ran about 2 miles before the timer broke.

Re: Anderson Timer Questions
Replace it completely, flapper and the cover, it will all bend if it backfires and make timing difficult. You can reset it if you know how to bend the contacts to the proper dimensions.

Re: Anderson Timer Questions
Tip-Top Timers in Spokane are the producers of the Anderson style timer, you could send it to them for repair.
