Grif-Ho Non Glare Dash Light

Hello
While making a research with Google I found, on your 2010 Forum, an equipment which I am in need.

It appear that this same Dash Light was also used in the cockpit of the Douglas C-47 aircraft and, while in the process of restoring one of these aircraft I need to find three Dash lights.

I know that it's an old equipment but, perhaps, there will be someone on this forum who will be able to guide us in the right direction or who own, on a shelf, this equipment.

Finding those today may be a task, you might just find modern replacement of a shielded lamp like this small trailer license plate lamp.

I believe I have one of these.
As soon as it warms up I will check for you.
It was a cool light so I bought it thinking it would look good in my PACO speedster.
If it fits your aircraft restoration it should be in that aircraft.

Was warm enough to check my sea can for parts today.
Yes I do have on of these lights.
It appears to be tin or cadmium plated then brushed over with flat black paint.
Good possibility it was military.
If you needed more it might be worthwhile scanning this one to replicate it with a 3D printer.
This one could be functional and the others static models.

Somehow I'd missed that earlier forum posting, but good to see more info on these. I've had a display box of them in by recreated old auto parts store. The are displayed in an antique showcase along with some other lighting stuff. Interesting that the inside lid of the box folds up to look like a dashboard, with the light installed. Glad you have found some that can be used in your restoration project. I'd always thought the name looked familiar, and was surprised to see the identical logo on a stamped metal toilet paper holder in a public restroom.
