The T type handles started with the 1921 model and as this has exposed wood around the window area so I would say 1921 or 1922. If the wood is good looks like a good start. Except for glass and making safe to drive, I would not change anything from what it is now, that is a great looking survivor. Ok it may have had a repaint at some point(?), but non the less
I see that it has the old style front spring mount and crank. I would have to check but think both were changed in 20 or 21. What does the engine number put it at?

I am not sure about the engine/spring brackets, but the hand crank is the later type, beginning in 1920. Oil side lamps I think were added at some time, I don't think that particular bracket was used by the factory for the earlier coupes. I think I can see the cross brace for the earlier forged running board brackets. That would likely be the most important detail to check again to see if it is earlier or later. I think 1920 was the crossover year when both types of running board brackets were used.

We all know the parts would go into production and then effect... us, much later.

A bit hard to tell with what photo's we have to work with but I'm going to say at some time in it's life it's scored a 26/7 engine, besides the fan water outlet mount, it looks like top bolts on the hogs head as well.

1919 or not, if it runs and and has no serious mechanical problems, and has clean paperwork, and if the price is reasonable I wouldn't hesitate to buy it. It looks great!
Matter of fact- I have a nice '28 Model A coupe that I'd trade for it!

That is not an even trade, that coupe is worth half or less then your model a.

This is a good survivor that probably will need a new radiator. Looks like a honeycomb radiator but won’t know for sure about cooling until it’s started up and driven for a while.
For now I would clean it up, see how runs and drive it. If you want the correct engine for the era you can do that later.
Several years ago this car would probably be taken apart and “restored”. If the wood is still good leave as is. It’s to good to be turned into a trailer queen and just looked at in a car show.

Many thanks. You guys are good. I just received the pictures of the interior area. It has the 26/27 pedals. It must have had a change sometime in its life as many of you posted.

A little bit of "parts salad" to this one. The starting crank goes with the late model engine. The steering wheel is earlier than '19. Perhaps the earlier stirrup handles got replaced for tee handles ? I had a '20 with forged runningboard braces, certainly a '19 would have them. What a great car !!

I can't get too worked up about a later power plant swap in an early car, especially if it was done during its using life. It would have been the thing to do to keep it on the road.

It is nice to see the insides. It shows some good detail. After building a rusty '22 from parts I appreciate seeing this one.

Looks about 100% better then my 21 coupe when I got it. Add a distressed head liner and funky seat covers and go drive it! By the way, the car in my avatar was that coupe before putting the Express body on it.
