The generator has not worked on our '21 Touring in the 3 years since we've had the car. I've just been charging the battery monthly and putting off getting it fixed. Now the generator on our '28 A Sport Coupe has quit working too. I suppose I'll take them both to the local starter/alternator/generator shop and get them fixed now. I DONT intend to convert either to 12 volt.

Before giving your generator to the local repair shop, be sure he know how a three brush generator works and how to fix them.

What I have found is that if you find a place that knows how to repair older tractor electrical systems, there's a pretty good chance they understand the Model T's three brush system. Establishments that deal only with modern automotive electrical systems rarely have a clue how to deal with generators of any kind. Its getting to be a lost art.

Yeah, he knows how to work on Model T & Model A generators and starters for the locals and even stocks parts for them.
