Our Foothills Model T Club in Calgary has taken on a winter project to make some license plate toppers.
One approach is to use our Club's logo as a basis.
It is essentially the early Ford "The universal Car" image with our Club's name on it.
That image is the 1910 to 1918 flying or winged pyramid.
This would be cast in aluminum. The problem is that we would like to have it with nice three dimensional relief.
We have looked for an original 3D image to use as foundation for our project but have only found 2D versions (signs and printed logos).
Does anyone have or know of a 3D version of this logo? Ford must have produced it for some form of advertising or promotional material.
Thank you......Harry

Contact Martynn Vowell, he might be able to suggest something. I would think that the master could be printed on a 3D printer and shadow lines could be adjusted to give what you are looking for.

Harry,

Dan and Elllen Killecut of Hannibal, NY hosted the MTFCI tour in Auburn, NY a few years ago. In the goodie bag had a 5" metal logo like you describe. (See attached image) I'm not sure where or how they were made. Ellen is on the MTFCI Board and can be reached at secretary at modelt dot org. I hope this will give you a good direction in your quest.

Have a great day,
Dom

They have their logo, what they are looking for it to get it cast like relief carving, the background dropped away from the logo and lettering.

A Google image search brought up this one in cast iron.

Thank you for the responses to date.
Our local foundry has the CNC capability to create the master pattern.A number of members are familiar with 3D scanning and printing.
The foundry would create the master pattern for us then we would get a minimum of 50 toppers cast .
We have seen what is available commercially today, like the cast item above. We would like to have more depth/relief to the background.
For those knowledgeable folks here, do you believe the triangular shape in the middle of the logo is simply a triangle
or does it depict a pyramid? Our 3D final product would be different for each of these.
Does anyone have an image of an orange version of this? I understand they were done in both blue and orange colours.
Thank you,
Harry

It is a winged pyramid. The imagery was big at the time relating to Egypt, even before Carter found Tutankhamun's tomb in 1922, you know mummy's and such. (OP, well sort of)The wings are the scarab which can survive the harsh desert environment and the pyramid eternal like the Model T. There could also be a Freemason connection as well, but that might only fit a small part of the buying public.
