I wonder if anyone has a pattern that I could use to have a boot cover made for my 1917 Touring. I have a 30+ year top that had never been unpacked from the box that I plan to install at some point, but I want to replace the interior with "correct" upholstery (probably from Classtique) first. In the meantime, I have bare top bows to hide and when the top is eventually on, I'll want to be able to protect it (while collapsed) when going down the road on my open flatbed trailer. My recent accident [Read Ford Tractor (1) Old Man (0) ] has forced me to adjust the timeline of when I hoped to complete some of these items.

Boot covers are fairly pricey so I was thinking I could have my "upholstery lady" make me one that would at least serve my needs for now.

I see that your post for this thread is dated Jan. 28. That's today ! Does this mean you are home and already bored with sitting around trying to heal ? Great !

I have an old top boot. The only thing I know for sure is that it's too small to fit my '12 Touring. Other than that, I don't even know if it's for a Ford. Do you have any critical dimension that we might compare to see if I might have a useful pattern for you ?

If anybody else has some key information to help identify the boot that I have, please help us out.

Boy, Dick, you have hit the nail on the head. Here I am on the sidelines while one of the more exciting projects in my life sits idled. Yes,
I came home Friday and am now snowbound by the "big storm." Funny thing, my life won't let me try to plow us out.

Getting back to the cover - I have a friend who after the storm passes could take some measurements for me. I have a rough idea what such a boot should look like but assume there are a few construction details that would allow it both to work better and look a little more authentic.

I can't recall seeing a single Model T within 100 miles of me that doesn't have it's top up. Makes it hard to come up with a design.
