Dear fellow Model T experts, I need some advice.
After putting in new pistons and valves, I’m having a hard time starting my car. I pulled the plugs and hand turn the motor until the first plug fires. It seem that the piston has traveled to far down at this point.
What am I doing wrong?
I have a mark at TDC, on the crank and it appears to be past the 15.5 degree point.
I have an Anderson timer and it appears to be in working condition.
I adjusted the timing rod to measure 2.5 inches from the rod to the bolt holding the timer on.
When it does start, it has very little power.

George, the 2.5 measurement is only for the ford timer. Crank the engine to place the piston at tdc, or just past tdc, then adjust your timer rod by the plug sparking at full retarded spark lever position.
