OT what is this old tool?

This probably isn’t even automotive related but my cousin found this old tool and we can’t figure it out. I told him somebody here would know.

I think thats used to set the pitch of saw blade teeth. I have several simular to it that my grandfather used when sharpening his hand saws.

My first thought also was a saw tooth setting tool. None exactly like that one, but I have a couple similar to that one. I once used one that had belonged to my grandfather. Worked quite well in fact!

They were made in a variety of sizes and designs for fit and work on different sizes and types of saw blades.

Thanks. That makes sense because I think he found it in his other grandpa’s barn. He had been a carpenter. I remember being down there and seeing an old asbestos siding cutter. The old house that was there had that, I believe the carport that’s still there has it now. No telling what all is in there.
