I would like to thank Mr. Joe Bell for allowing me to purchase a RHD hogshead that he had.

I am attempting to build a somewhat unique 2 person boattailed roadster/speedster (RHD, suicide doors, removable hardtop & some other modern amenities).

I am presently assembling the drive train.

The new RHD hogs head to be installed this week. Not pictured yet

If you are running removable ear bands, don't forget to flip them around as well.

The removable portion would then go opposite the pedals so that the rotation of the transmission drums would keep them seated. Correct?

No, like a LHD they are on the pedal side so on a RHD they are on the pedal side.

I assume you have the starter version? In Canada all I have are the pre starter versions (2 aluminum, 1 cast iron). I am thinking of doing a “surgery and weld job” and add a starter to the cast iron one.
My 13 touring is RHD and has been on the road for 19 years

Kerry, wouldn't the direction of rotation attempt to lift the band pins/tabs off the end pieces? Just clarifying as I have absolutely NO experience with RHD.

Les, I have one with a starter mount even though I will be blocking off and use a removable starting system similar to what is used in Formula 1 and INDY racing. Building as a multiple purpose (daily driver and racing).

Hank, Good name. I hadn't thought much about naming yet. I was leaning toward "The Wynco Special" developed by Wynco Enterprises, designed by the Department of SWAG (Stupid Wild Ass Guesses) HA!

Chassis has 21" Model A wheels, aluminum Watford 3 speed aux trans, Ruxtell 2 speed diff and has been lowered approximately 7" ( how low can you go), fiberglass roadsters tub so that when I cut for suicide doors, I will not destroying an original steel body. A lot of ambition, but it keeps me out of bars and from chasing wild women!

If rotation was a problem then LHD T's would have the same issue when using the brake band when going in reverse.
I've never seen any problems as long as the band end is locked correctly on the ear.

A little thread drift, but I have pulled worn out bands with removable ears on the "wrong" side. Good luck with the project and I look forward to photos.

I plan on painting the "new" hogs head today and installing when dry. Using a "rattle" can off the shelf color. I will then install the front plate distributor and oil pump. I have a pump like in Hank's photos.

I hope my kids take pity on my wife and supply me with more engine speed parts for Christmas. I fought it though as they didn't ask me what I still wanted/ needed. HA!
