How is the tail pipe attached to the rear cast iron end cap of the 1915 muffler? How is the tail pipe removed?

If it's like my '14 the tail pipe is swaged into the cast muffler end.

The '14 and '15 mufflers are the same, as Val posted. To remove the pipe, I just take my '14 out on our New York State roads. The lunar landscapes that pass for roads out here will knock it out in about 3 miles. I just have to listen for the 'little 'clang' as it hits what's left of the asphalt. Then I retrieve it and expand the muffler end of the pipe slightly so I can press it back in to the muffler head. Then it's ready to get knocked loose again on the next trip.

I have an original '14/'15 style muffler for my '15. But the little tail-pipe on it was missing. It isn't the way it should be, but I didn't have a practical way to do it the way it should be. So, I found a scrap of thin-wall steel tubing that just fit the inside of the muffler end, slid it into place, and tack-brazed it into place. Should work okay.
