And they are usually the 26-7 ones!

They were all 26/27 . Why do they fail? Wider brake bands??

Dean: What I have been finding is that if the rivets are not loose then the driven plate will be cracked. Does not matter if wide or narrow.
I think it has to do with 4th main alignment. Pan straightness.

I had the same problem and had a hard time finding a replacement, finally got one off ebay. I am tempted to re rivit the old one and weld it.

I just received oversized rivets. I will drill and er rivet should be better than new.

The problem you are talking about is why I developed the “floating transmission shaft “. It significantly reduces the loads.
