So I’m going through some parts and I have these brass dash to windshield brackets. I have two pair. They came with a Rands brass windshield. These brackets are for mounting the windshield sides to the side of the firewall. They look like they are for a Model T, but the length of them does not look right. I see the vendors sell repop and they appear shorter than these. I placed them on the second piece of a two piece firewall and snapped a couple photos for reference as well. The length is 4 1/2” Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

I don’t understand what you want to do with these mounts, what are you using them for?

I say truck or car non Ford using tubular style windshield on flat dash
Make model will be hard or anyones guess
Look to be brass if so i say pre 1911

I'm just trying to sort out what is what. These brackets came with the Rands windshield which I was told was on a Model T. From what I've read so far is that Rands supplied the brackets with their windshield. The brackets that are repop are just one of many styles that we're available. These brackets would have went on the filler panel of the two piece firewall. Perhaps someone with an unmolested original T could verify about the brackets on a two piece firewall. No doubt these brackets are old. The brass plating is there in some places. If these are original to a Rands windshield Model T I would reuse them for originality purposes. I just need to know if these particular "Style" brackets being the longer ones would be the ones that were supplied for a Model T two piece dash.

They are windshield to firewall riser brackets 1909, 1910. They fit around the ends of the firewall riser and clap on to the bottom of the windshield frame. They were steel that was brass plated.

Interesting! Thanks for the picture. Now here's another mystery. The Rands windshield that came with these brackets is not your typical equal half windshield. It has a larger bottom half and smaller top half. So we're these brackets only unique to the 09-10 year?

Those brackets were used with the rands windshield in 1911 as well.
The 1909,1910 Rands with the internal spring hinges had equal windshield halves (13 3/4”).
The 1911 Rands with the internal spring hinges
Had the larger lower frame (14 3/4”) and the smaller frame on the top (12 3/4”).
The attached photo is a 1911 Touring.

Thanks a bunch for the info. The Rands windshield that I have does have the internal spring hinges and the smaller upper half. Looks like I'll clean them up and get them re-plated. It's great to know that these brackets are original to the windshield/era.
