Post by BMonoModelTFord » Sun Jan 12, 2020 10:59 am

Just got a full rubber replacement kit for front windshield for 1927 Touring.
Is there any wise information or tricks to the replacement?

On my 1924, the gasket between the cowl and the base of the lower windshield frame kept slipping out of place during installation, so I taped it down in a few strategic places with blue masking tape first. Once the windshield frame was in place, I was able to pull the masking tape out, leaving the gasket.

On the side seals for the upper windshield frame, I used a few dabs of black silicone sealant to help retain the seals in their slots. I let the silicone harden completely before putting any pressure on the seals. :)

When I restored my 26 Touring I also used black silicone to hold the gaskets in place. Don't worry, the windshield will continue to leak like yoy would expect!

Thanks Eric

Do I need to remove the glass or is it possible to slide along track on lower and upper glass
