I'll be there...."lord willing and the creek don't rise." I'll be the big guy with the grey Ford hat and a limp. I don't expect to find one there but I'm looking for a un-pitted steel felloe for a 30 x 3.5 demountable.... Anyway, that's my excuse for driving over :D

Depending on where the meet is in relation to one of the best "mom and pop" restaurants in Michigan, take your appetite to Tony's Original Restaurant, on 2612 State St. in Saginaw. You won't regret it. Excellent food, excellent prices. Fantastic Lasagna, and their salads in themselves are big enough to be a meal. Tell 'em you want it "small"!!

Tim-there is a State Street Tony’s listed at that address, I hope that’s the place you’re thinking of. I’ll be on my own and looking for a place to do lunch. I plan to arrive early at McDonald’s and will be getting hungry by late morning...thanks for the suggestion.

Yawn! I got up well before the Sun and made my way to Saginaw. There were lots of people there, but little of interest to me. It was put on by a Model A club but I saw very little Model A stuff ---- mostly the kind of things you would see at a flea market. The only Model T item I noticed was a sad looking incomplete late model hogshead for $5. There may have been more items but I didn't see them. I also didn't see anyone I recognized so after 45 minutes I left.

Hey, it got me out of the house but someday I hope to find a true Model T swap meet to peruse.

Come to Chickasha you’ll have a good time, meet a lot of forum members, buy stuff you don’t need but want and be part of the fun.

Yup Tim. Tony's is a place I will remember. I've driven past it many times but never stopped before. Thanks!

Tim Juhl, I suggest you come to the Model T Homecoming at our MTFCA Museum in Richmond, Indiana on June 6th. As part of this event we have a Model T only Swap Meet & you will not be disappointed at the T parts for sale. There might only be 15 or so vendors, but remember, it's Model T parts only with very very few exceptions.

Hope to see you there!

Keith

Keith, I think I met Tim there last year, he was still healing from an injury.
I'm sure he'll be back this year, as will I!!

Yes - I made the trip to the Homecoming with my scooter. I was definitely not disappointed and did pick up a few items and meet some nice folks, Tim W included. It was just plain fun and maybe I'll be able to bring my T this year if all goes well.

I see the doc this Friday about an issue with my other leg related to the accident a year ago.... a damaged a tendon or something that just hasn't healed - such that I can barely lift my foot off the floor. I can walk but some other things are a chore. This getting old stuff can really suck.

Keith and I have bumped into each other from time to time. I've even joined the Dairyland Tin Lizzies and plan to take my Model T to give rides at Oshkosh for the big EAA Fly-in this year. I already have some Wisconsin friends that have helped me out on more than one occasion.

Bud - I hope your news isn't too bad. If and when you decide to share I'm sure you will find plenty of fellows who can relate and share their own experience. The guys on this forum sure helped me get thru a dark time.

Hi Tim J., I didn't know you were at the .19 Homecoming. I hope to see you there this year. I'll be there with one of our T's and always enjoy it.
Cheers,
Keith

Hi Keith - we didn't meet until later - at your Oshkosh "camp" and again at the OCF. The Model T community is certainly a tightly knit one... Since joining your ranks I have met and made friends from all over which is great! I just wish I hadn't waited so long to get a Model T and join the fun!

I may be temped to fly into Osh this year if I had a good co-pilot to watch out for all the other aircraft, I did enjoy seeing all the T 's running around but there was one that was really niosey!

Joe, If you fly in plan to arrive early or you may get diverted to a satellite field and have to ride the shuttle in. This will be my 46th consecutive visit to EAA Airventure at Oshkosh. First time I flew in as the copilot of a WWII B-25 Bomber.... I've flown my own plane in several times but for the last 20+ years have preferred to bring a camper of some kind. I'm too old to sleep on the ground under the wing and this way I can get off the grounds to shop or have a meal. The Dairyland Tin Lizzies have a nice camping location close to the action so I'm looking forward to combining my two favorite interests.

Before we had our own Model T, the rides given at Oshkosh were always a "must do" item on our list. My wife loved it so much that's one of the reasons we got our own Model T. Similarly, when I'd take my Army Jeep to Motor Muster at Greenfield Village she'd spend the day riding the T's. That tells you something :-)

At Oshkosh '19 we rode with Denis Pulvermacher of the Dairyland Tin Lizzies - in one of life's twists, he was one of the guys working to get my car running better at the Michigan Jamboree at the Soo a few weeks later and still later repaired my Bendix at Indiana's Covered Bridge Tour. Who'd have ever guessed? Denis is a great guy and typical of other Model T folks I have met.
