Interesting Item on Minneapolis Craigslist

Post by WayneJ » Mon Jan 20, 2020 5:19 pm

I have no connection to this listing, and at $475, it isn't cheap, but it sure is neat to look at. Post ID # 7050776368 is a Ford Motor Company display piece of various automotive hardware (nuts and bolts and such). The actual nuts and bolts are fastened to "pages" of a leather binder. I haven't seen anything like it before, and thought others might enjoy seeing it also.

I have seen that previously listed on Minneapolis Craigslist over the past year. It's not moving very quickly.

Perhaps a salesmen's sample case that he took to dealers to show what the items were.

Post-T era... I'm wondering if it was more like an inspection case for someone like a zone manager checking a parts department to make sure they were carrying all the hardware they were supposed to... or substituting spurious parts...

It's a neat collectable, and it's true, I've never seen one before, but I'll have to bolt from it as for me that price is a little, um, nuts...

On 11/20/1948, a U.S. federal trademark registration was filed for FOMOCO. This trademark is owned by Ford Motor Company,
One American Road

It would be nice if the seller learned how to focus before posting pictures. It would be more interesting if I could see it. Jim Patrick

It does appear to have some thick headed bolts in it. If the items include the thick headed bolts did Ford use them into the 50’s?

Expensive...but if I had the disposable $$ to throw at it, I'd probably buy it.

It's beautiful.
